Tried everything

I'm sorry but I am so frustrated. I have spent hours following every instruction I can find. At various times Google Home app states I need the latest version of the app to add my tv and I just downloaded it.  Most importantly the app on my phone sees the mini but will not do the final step and begin to interact with it.  The mini says I have to sign on to the app and I am.  I have reset the mini, Uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and tried every suggestion.  My understanding was this was to be easy.  I actually am a fairly tech savvy person.  If I can't get it resolved soon I will be forced to return this device and switch to Alexa which I would rather not do.  My phone and unit are on the same wifi etc, etc, etc..

My hard disk DAW recording set up was much easier to set up. Can I actually talk to someone so that I can get this resolved? All the "solutions" have led me no where good.  Thx

We can understand why you feel that way. Let's see what's going on — a few questions: does your TV have a built-in Chromecast? Is this for a brand new Nest Mini set up too?

Hi Juni,  I tried to respond a couple days ago but for some reason I was unable to.  I have 2 tv's with Chromecast or at least you can cast to them.  I have put in many hours to this and am totally baffled.  I dont know why but the links also didnt show up on my phone.  I am on my computer now.  On some of the issues I did find it told me to look at the wifi networks avail. and I was to look for "googlehomexxxx".  Its never been there.  Nothing with any googlehome....  Also I have been able to get the nest to get it connected but than it says that it cant "find" it.  Im not sure how you can have one and not the other.  I will follow your "Link your TV..." and get back to you.  thx, Brian

Hi again,  I tried to follow the instructions on the link you sent.  I dont get a device whose tile you instruct me to hold on to.  I have confirmed that the phone is set to the proper email though I dont know how to confirm what the Nest mini is hooked up to. Plus, I never get a code on my screen.  I have reset the mini so many times and deleted and re loaded the app to many times I dont recall the number.  I do wonder if its just the device but then I will need to return (an hour trip) and will buy from a different store.  If I return, I guess I will be very tempted to go to Alexa.  I really dont want to do that as I have so many Android devices in my home.  Not sure what to try next.

Hi again Juni,  Well I had to make a decision.  Having spent hours and hours trying over and over and reading every piece of info and suggestions I could (I do appreciate your attempt to help.  Do I keep the Mini or go with Alexa.  I really don't want to go that route if no necessary.  So, I contacted a tech guy ( it was diff as I live in the sticks.  Hopefully he can look at my whole system and set it up so that I can get a small time smart home.  Thanks again.  I will try to remember to let you know if it all works out.  Brian
