Trouble with Nest Mini and YouTube Music

Hi everyone. Suddenly, my Nest Mini refuses to play anything on YouTube music. I ask it like "Hey Google, play random music" and the speaker says "an error has occurred, try again later". 

If I try to cast YouTube Musico from my phone, songs start to quicky pass from one to another, without playing anyone, and finally the speaker says "an error blah blah, try again later".

I've tried:

-Factory Reset my Nest Mini

-Uninstall and reinstall Google Home app

-Uninstall and reinstall YouTube Music app

-Log in in another Google account

But... the problem is still there.

I'll appreciate any help 🙏

Not yet. Even Nest and YTM support doesn't know how to solve this issue🤦🏻‍♂️

We're having the same problem, both our nest minis aren't working as of 3-4 days ago. I've tried resetting the device and ensured apps are updated.

• Is the Google account that you use on your Google Nest Mini the same one you use on your Google Home app?

• And please let me know when the inconvenience starts.

I'm having the exact same symptom as Damian (Youtube music quickly skips from one song to the next) when casting from my phone, the nest mini is connected to wifi and youtube music, says it will play a song through youtube music when asked to play a specific song or artist, but then says 'something went wrong, try again later'..

Thanks Manuel, this did not work. The google nest mini works normally aside from not playing music thru Youtube music.

I've already tried everything that support and the troubleshooting guides says.

The account is the same.

The issue started aprox a week ago, maybe a few days before that.

It seems like Dave and I have the exactly same issue...

Same issue here - started almost a week ago. Only impacts YouTube Music not Spotify and does it on ALL Google speakers.

I have Tried all the steps in this post. Must be a ballsed up update

I am having this same issue. Doesn't matter if asking the mini/display to play YouTube Music or trying to Cast it already playing from phone to the device.

Also specific to YouTube Music, and only on Google minis and Google displays, YouTube Music app works fine on phone and can be cast to other Bluetooth speakers.

Also have tried all the normal troubleshooting.

No changes made to network, devices, our accounts.

Other apps we've tried work fine on minis and displays, including casting other music apps, and assistant driven task requests.

I am so happy I found this, I have the same issue and it has been driving me mad. The only thing I haven’t rebooted or reset in the last few days is me…and I have come close. 

two minis, both stopped working around the same time. I can play Spotify and Amazon Music but not YT Music (owned by Google). 

It seems to want to work, finds the track but won’t play it…just skips it and then keeps on skipping. I guess this is what it would do if an explicit track was lined up and you had restrictions on. 

Hopefully, as it isn’t a “me problem” there will be a fix otherwise I will have to leave YT music.

Same here, wife's Galaxy s21 casts fine from ytm. My pixel 8 pro and even a backup pixel 3a running android 12 both have the same issue, Really annoying. Maybe time to switch to Spotify 🙄

Same issue here, started a couple days ago, I thought it was an update. Just can’t play music this is only happening with “YouTube music”

Same here, been doing it for awhile now. Tried everything, on phone with support for 2 hours. Factory reset, deleted speaker groups, changed to Spotify, reboot router, etc. 

It will still tell the weather and answer questions so internet is working but when trying to play music it won't play anything and appears to skip to the next song before it even starts playing. Changing default player to Spotify also doesn't work however I don't see it skipping the songs like YouTube music. 

I just tried Pandora and thankfully that is working at least! I pay for YouTube premium mainly to listen to music so pretty disappointed about that

I have also had this exact same issue on every Google speaker, only with YouTube music. Other music platforms works. 

I have also did the trouble shooting listed above. . But still nothing.

As of tonight - all my Google nest minis are working with Youtube music!! Is it working for anyone else? I have done nothing beyond the regular resets/updates a few days ago.

Indeed, it started working overnight now. YouTube music has not worked for a week, no matter what I configure.
