Trouble with Nest not connected when it is connected

Nexus22

I have had no end of difficulty with the Google nest product. My big issue is simply trying to connect a Bluetooth Sonos speaker configuration to the nest. All this was complicated because I changed Wi-Fi providers in the middle and I had to reset all devices and go through an endless process of setting it back up. But, now when I try and add the Bluetooth speaker using the Google home app when I click on the Google nest device (the main device) it says “Disconnected device. Connect to your wifi to cast.” But I am connected to my wifi on my mobile device where I have Google Home and this is the same wifi as the Google nest. The Nest is working fine and responds to my commands. But I can’t get beyond the “disconnected” notification.

Hi Nexus22,

That certainly hasn't been easy for you ― let's check it out. A few questions: what are the Nest speakers you are using? For confirmation, you are able to give voice commands but when you go to your Google Home app and do some changes, it says “Disconnected device. Connect to your Wi-Fi to cast”, right? It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest speakers. Plug them back in after 3 minutes tops. Restarting your phone might also help. Also, remove all Bluetooth connected devices from your phone.

For more information, check out this guide.

Best,
