Tune in not working on google home mini gen 1

terrywalsh

I have just changed from Vodafone to Sky as my internet provider. When changing the Google Home Mini (Gen 1) to the new router, I had to factory reset the Google home mini, to add them to the Sky router. This included a software update to the mini.

Since then, when I ask

"Hey Google Play RTE radio 1",

the speaker reaponds with.

"I can't do that here, but you can ask me to play it on one of your other devices."

This response applies to every radio station we request.

Anyone know what's happening and how to fix it.

Hello terrywalsh,

Thank you for taking an interest in our community. I’m sorry to hear that your Google Nest Mini 1st generation isn’t playing the RTE Radio 1. Don’t worry. It’s a pleasure to help you.

Here are some recommendations that you can do:

  • Ensure that your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network or linked to the same account as your speaker or display. Here you can find more information to: Link your radio services.
  • Speak clearly and directly into the device when giving commands.
  • For a more specific listening experience, try to use recommended voice commands, listed in this article: Listen to the radio on your Google Nest speaker or display.

Let me know how it goes. I'll look forward to your response.

Best regards,

Daniel

Hi, thanks for your reply, very much appreciated.
I am in Ireland, as opposed to North America, so the guide doesn't help except to imply that there should be any radio service outside USA and Canada - but there is, just don't get to select it as you do.
However, TuneIn has decided to start working again, I don't know why, I didn't do anything except try it yet again, and it worked.
Cheer, Terry

Hi we have the same issue, our internet provider did not change. This is going on over 3 weeks without irish radio channels, it will play UK channels, any fix yet?

Just started working again, don't know why.

Hi  Kev-Bt,

Thanks for posting here in the community forum. I understand how frustrating it is because you haven't been able to listen to Irish radio channels. No worries; let's try to implement some tips.

Here are some recommendations to follow:

Let me know how it goes and if you are experiencing the same behavior with other radio stations.

Best regards,
