Unable to connect or reset Google Nest Audio Speaker

K3bert

I am unable to connect to my speaker nor can I perform a factory reset. I followed the steps at https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7073477?hl=en

to no avail. I tried the first method of turning the mic off and pushing the top button and I also tried the power cycling the speaker 10 times in the advanced troubleshooting step. Now, all the lights go off for a couple of minutes and then come back on and flash for 15 to 20 seconds and the. Go out again. I’ve kept the speaker on for 30 minutes and the pattern repeats. I have 4 other speakers in my home that are working like a champ.

Hey K3bert,

Thanks for sharing details about the issue - we appreciate your efforts.

It will help a lot if you send us a video of what's happening to your Nest Audio speaker so we can check what's going on with your device.

Looking forward to your response.

Cheers,

Muddi

The audio in the video is not coming from the speaker, we were watching a movie while I recorded this. But every few minutes, the lights come on as shown in the video clip. Also, in the Home app, if I try to add the device, it discovers the speaker but I can’t connect despite having WiFi and local network access enabled.

Hey K3bert,

We appreciate your efforts. We'd be happy to take a look into this for you. Please fill out this form with all the needed information then let me know once done.

@Madielovergirl: Please try these steps below, and let us know how it goes.

  1. At the side of the Google Home speaker, unplug the power cord and wait for 10 seconds. Then plug it back in and wait until the 4 LED lights up on top.
  2. Repeat the first step, 10 more times.
  3. After the customer plugs the power cord back in the final time, wait for the device to reset. The device announces "Welcome to Google Home" to signify that it's ready for setup.

Keep us posted.

Cheers,

Muddi
