Hello,
I have been trying to pair Nest Hub Max with my Samsung soundbar and it just isn´t working. I am getting these messages on the Hub:
"Something went wrong. Try again"
And this if I try to pair through the Google Home: "Default speaker could not be set"
I have tried all the set ups being around internet and nothing is working. Previously I had it connected with other Samsung´s soundbar and it worked perfect.
Thank you for help. Josef

Hi Amigo23,
Thanks for posting—let's get this sorted out. What is the model of this Samsung soundbar? Do you have other Google Home devices aside from your Google Nest Hub Max? If yes, have you tried pairing it to your Samsung soundbar and see if it works?
Let’s troubleshoot your Google Nest Hub Max:
Let me know how it goes.

Alex

Hi Alex,
thank you for coming to me.
Well...., I have tried plug, unplug, factory resets, but none of these has helped.
I have actually been able to set the HW-Q990C as a default speaker through the Goggle Home app, but the music was not playing as it still needed the pairing.
I have tried now again the old soundbar Samsung HW-J7500R and it pairs right away. If I try the same with the new one I get the message "something went wrong, please try again". I have not problem pairing this new soundbar with any other devices, like TV, phones, iPad....
thx for some more hints.

Hi there,
Thanks for sharing those details. It looks like there’s something with the compatibility of the new Samsung soundbar with your Google Nest Hub Max since the old soundbar pairs just fine. We have very limited support for third-party speakers. It may be best to contact Samsung support to check its specifications, which may not be compatible with your Google Nest Hub Max.
Warmly,
Alex
