Unable to set up google home mini after moving

Having issues with utilising my google home mini. Moved the device to a new location and wireless was lost. I factory reset the device and walked through the setup again. The device failed to respond after downloading the latest software. Now I have 4 white lights on the device and get “Your Google Home is not setup yet. To get started, download the Google Home app on a phone or tablet.” I just setup the device from the Google Home app on my phone and it’s still saying this message. Have tried factory reset and deleting other homes but still no avail. Able to play music via Spotify on my phone directly but not when trying to access “hey google”. Please help.

Hello @Rachel9,

Thanks for posting in the community.
It's frustrating when a device loses its connection after a move. I appreciate the effort in trying to fix it on your own. Please provide the following information:

  • What does the app show you when you ask Google Home Mini for something?
  • How far is the Google Home Mini from the router?

While I gather more information, you can try the following:

  1. Unplug your Google Nest or Home speaker or display. Wait for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Wait for the device to reboot, then try to ask the assistant your question again.
  2. Reboot your modem and router.
  3. If there are nearby devices that may cause interference, such as microwave ovens, wireless speakers, baby monitors, Wi-Fi routers, and other devices using the 2.4 GHz band, try to move your speaker or display to a different room.
  4. If you get these errors frequently, try to move your speaker or display closer to your router.

Please let me know how it goes. Thank you.

Regards,
Jorge
