Unable to transmit bluetooth audio to speaker groups

MusicGeek

Hi,

I've posted in similar threads, but I am unable to share bluetooth audio transmitted from, for example, a turntable or cd player between my speaker group. It will default to just one speaker/display hub.

Before the issue with Sonos, this was a feature that worked brilliantly. In actuality it was the primary reason for me investing in the Google speakers as I use them both at home and in my small music shop. Now the feature has been removed, my speakers are useless to me and my needs.

Google doesn't want to answer emails regarding the problem, and it's left people like me with similar problems with hardware they can no longer use for the purpose they purchased originally.

Pretty sure Google could fix this by acknowledging they infringed on Sonos and paying them to use the technology again, or give those people affected a refund/buy back their products.

NOTE: The label states this is an IOS issue... there was no option for bluetooth audio.... IOS does have limitations on it with regards such things as Audible and YouTube, but that isn't the main reason for this thread.

Hey MusicGeek,

Thanks for sharing details about the issue. May apologies for the late response.

Sorry to hear about your experience with your Google Home/Nest devices, To confirm, are you trying to play music via Bluetooth on a speaker group? Also, can you share the link of your previous post so I can check what happened. If you've contacted our support via chat or phone before, please provide the case ID.

Looking forward to your response.

Hi Muddi,

This is one of the previous threads I've commented in.

My issue is using a Bluetooth audio transmitter attached to a turntable. It will now only connect to one speaker, whereas before it could be sent to a group of speakers. This has been an issue for quite a while, probably towards the end of 2021.

I tried emails and contacted Google at the time but never received a reply.

Thanks!

Hi Muddi,

I can't give you a case ID as Google declined to reply to my emails, etc

Hey MusicGeek,

Got it! Please note that you can only have one connected Bluetooth enabled device to play music through at a time, and connecting it to a speaker group is not possible. Here's a link for your reference. As an alternative, you can connect a Chromecast device (check first if your device is compatible) then include it on your speaker group to play music. Visit this link to learn more.

Hope this helps.

Hi Muddi,

Thanks for the information. However, my point is that it WAS possible, until Google got asked to pay Sonus for using their technology. This is a feature that has been removed by Google with no warning at the time of removal and Google still refuses to do anything about it, leaving customers such as myself and many others with devices that no longer do what they were originally purchased for. This is poor customer service from Google, choosing to ignore the problem and accepting no responsibility for the lost of features. I now have a system of google hubs and speakers that are useless to me purely because Google won't do the right thing for it's customer base and settle with Sonus.
