Unresponsive Google Home speaker with four white lights

Our Google Home speaker is totally unresponsive with four white lights permanently showing. Just happened out of the blue today. I have tried unplugging it, waiting a few minutes then plugging back in. The problem persists. The Home app says the speaker is Not Available. We've had the Home speaker for years and never had this problem.

Any advice to get it working again.

Many thanks.

Happening to many of us and unfortunately Google will just tell you to do retart steps that do not fix the problem. It seems something in their update last Thursday caused many devices to break.

Thanks MarkPnest. Yes I tried the full factory reset (holding the rear button down for 15 seconds). That didn't work. In that situation it then recommends unplugging the power cable, waiting 10 seconds, re-plugging back in, waiting for the four white lights to appear, then repeat that process 10 more times in order to get a factory reset. That didn't work either. So not sure what to do. I might try contacting them via chat to see if they suggest anything different.

Chat just tells me to try the same steps. It is very frustrating.

yes the same has happened to me.   I tried contacting Google chat who advised to try the same reset sequences already mentioned.   They couldn’t offer any other ways to fix.   They did suggest taking it to a local 3rd party repairer., or buying a new speaker.  Not very helpful I’m afraid.
