Disappointed with discontinuation of Animal of the Day

My Google Nest Display told me today that the Animal of the Day is being discontinued. Why? I acknowledge that I am just one person, but the animal of the day has been a fun activity for my family (two young boys) for as long as I can remember.  I'm very disappointed that Google seems completely disinterested in improving the products they create, instead opting to create new products (that are missing features and generally worse).

Hi @GotSka81

It is disappointing that Animal of the Day is going away and other Community members will not be happy with this change either.  I don't know why they are discontinuing this feature but you can still ask things like "where does a fox live" etc.

We were just notified of this today and are so bummed! Not only do us adults enjoy it, but our toddler loves it! It’s upsetting that they’re discontinuing it 😔

Amazingly this educational feature fast became a daily habit that will be missed. Anyone know why?

I agree. I find it very frustrating that GOOGLE doesn't improve the products that they own by adding new content and updates. Instead they drop the project support, "Stadia", and move onto the next "big thing". Not a good way to instill confidence in your customer base to purchase your products if the support for them drops off after a few years of ownership. Just sad. RIP animal of the day. Be better google. Be a brand that has higher values and not just about quarterly profit improvement. The problem with being on top is there's only one way to go, down!

We just found out about the discontinuation this morning. My boys have loved this feature, and whenever we can remember to do it or have the time we do it in the mornings and they love to hear the jingle. I was already upset that the google assistant didn't ask for more, but now we're all bummed that it's going away. Do you at least have a new fun fact/trivia feature that will be replacing it?

Yeah this sucks. My kids loved learning about the animals. My daughter literally cried when we said sorry it's not doing it anymore.

Yep bring it back! Weve listend to it almost every day for the past year and a half and my toddler asks to hear it every morning. He loved it. Very disappointing it has been discontinued.
