Videos not being blocked

Despite having "block all videos" for "everyone" set in Digital Wellbeing, Nest is still allowing my son to watch hours of inane YouTube videos. The filter blocks music videos but does nothing to stop my kid accessing YouTube. I've taken to unplugging the device in desperation. Please help.

I’m sorry, I have the same issue. My kids just ask google about something and it immediately pulls up a video on YouTube. I have not been able to find anyway to block it thus far.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for reaching out.

Sorry to hear about what's happening. Could anyone here confirm if these settings are met?

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Tap Settings Digital Wellbeing Set up. You can set up Filters or skip to Downtime setup. If you’ve previously set up Filters, under "Downtime," tap New schedule.
  3. Follow the in-app steps to schedule Downtime.

Change Downtime schedule

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Tap Settings and then Digital Wellbeing.
  3. Tap the schedule that you want to change.
  4. Turn off your schedule or make changes, and then tap Save.

Let me know if these settings are correct so we can check further.

Best,

Princess

Good morning, unfortunately I can’t set downtime as it disables google duo also and that is how our kids call us during the day. I don’t know about the other person that may be an option for them as they have it unplugged right now!

Hi anicrisma,

Thanks for responding. I appreciate your efforts on trying the suggested steps, however that's the only way that we can restrict the videos to to other users of the Google Nest speakers. In line with that, we want to encourage you to send feedback from your end and we’re hoping for all the possibilities by taking our user’s feedback and suggestions.

Best,

Princess
