Voce match verification for one user on one speaker

I have Nest Audio, Nest Mini, and Nest Hub devices in various rooms. They are used by my wife and me, both of whom have completed voice training in the Google Home app on our iPhones. My voice is recognised on all devices, but my wife's doesn't get recognised just in one room, although it works fine in all the others. I have swapped the devices around, trying a mini and a hub in the room with the problem, but it persists in that room, so it can't be a specific device problem.

She has retrained voice match 6 times to no avail.

I would be grateful for any suggestions.
