Volume is at 50%, buy it says 100%, an it will for a few split seconds go to 100% volume.Then muffle

My gen 2 display says it's at 100% volume, but its actual volume stops raising any louder after 50% when I manually or remotely adjust the volume. It some times for a split second will turn up to 100% ,but them immediately is muffled back down to 50%...what am I doin wrong..???
