Just bought a nest hub max, and installed it at my parents. Video calls (Duo, Meet, Zoom) volume is really low, even when device volume is maxed to 10. The volume of the person on the call is low, however the ding sounds from the device are loud. Need to resolve this as my parents are a little hard of hearing

Hey Injunplanna,
A few questions: is it only happening when using video calls? When you're on a call, is there a way to adjust the volume on the screen? If possible, could you send us a video clip so that we can have a better look?
Thanks,
Alex

Yes. It is only happening with video calls. During the call, one can pull up the volume display and see it's at the max, but the audio of the speaker almost sounds as it's at half of less. As soon as the call is over, the end beep is loud, more in line with the max volume. I'll try and shoot a video and upload it

Hey Injunplanna,
Chiming in - to confirm, does it happen on a specific contacts only? How about when making regular calls?
Cheers,

I've tried on a couple of video calls to different people using duo. Both had low volumes. Haven't checked with meet.

Hey Injunplanna,
Thanks for sharing the video. I've forwarded it to the team so we can further check as it looks normal to me. To confirm, does it have the same volume as before? Do you have the same issue when making a regular call from your Nest Hub Max? Also, could you tell us what country you are located in?
Keep us posted.
Cheers,
Muddi

Hey Injunplanna,

It has had is low volume out of the box. Any call audio is about half the volume of any chimes or music played on the device.

Hey Injunplanna,
Sorry for the delays. Upon further checking, we can confirm that your device have the normal volume when receiving calls. We compare it with other devices, and have the same result. We will take this as feedback so we can improve the volume for third-party calling features like Duo calling. You can also send feedback using your device by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback." Visit this link for more steps.
It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will lock the thread shortly unless I can help out with anything else.
Cheers,
Muddi

Hey Injunplanna,
As we got our resolution here, I'm going to mark this thread as resolved. I'll be locking this thread if we won't hear back from you again in 24 hrs. Should that happen, feel free to create a new one if you have more questions or have other concerns in the future.
Cheers,
Muddi

I don't understand the phrase, "we can confirm that your device have the normal volume when receiving calls". I don't have a normal volume when I receive calls, my volume dial is on 10 and the call volume is half of any music that I play on the hub. Are you saying that you've forwarded the issue to Duo engineers?

Hey Injunplanna,
Sorry for the confusion. Our team conducted several tests using our devices and confirmed that there's nothing wrong with your device. This has something to do with the Duo calling feature itself and not with your speaker, and adjusting the call volume itself is not available. Feel free to send feedback on your Nest Hub Max as this will help us improve your experience with Duo calling using your Nest Hub Max.
Cheers,
Muddi
