Hello, I face a more or less similar problem with my groups. I really have the feeling that the Google team is pushing firmwares or updates without any serious test. It has been months and months that it is almost impossible to use any kind of multiroom functionality without facing new issues...
So si noticed 2 days ago that when I ask my Google assistant to play music in a group, I have a reply saying that there are 2 devices with this name, something like "there are 2 "downstairs" groups, would you like to play music on "downstairs" or "downstair" ?"
...so of course I say "downstairs" and there I face an error message "unable to connect to "downstairs".
I have rebooted all the speakers, disabled the group, created the group again, and have been able to play once on the speaker group before facing again the same problem...

If a speaker group contains a HK citation speaker AND a google nest hub max, the playback will only happen through 1 of the devices in the group. Indeed, groups that are re-added appear twice or three times. It's a mess for sure.. It can't connect to the group from time to time, if a group is called Beneden (dutch for downstairs) google responds with 'ik kan downstairs niet vinden' in other words, it replies in Dutch, but translates beneden to downstairs (i don't have a group downstairs).
I noticed that a group containing only the HK citations in our house works as expected..

On my side I have had enough, all my Google elements are for sale (5 nest audio, 2 nest hubs, and 1 lenovo smart clock) and I have ordered 2 Amazon echo 4 to start replacing what I now consider as unusable devices. Really sad, but I had enough patience and couldn't see any improvements for way too long, just new bugs making the Google experience unacceptable...

In our home it's a struggle to keep up hopes for the future of this system too.. my wife claims it's a hit or mis with a working ratio of 1 out of 8 times. It leads to frustration. A simple task to play some music became a fight. The unwillingness to pay Sonos for the patents is just childish and a principle matter. After that the engineers started doing worse and worse leaving me with a limping system that is very inconsistent in the way it works. That situation tells me Google doesn't care for their users. Only their own interest is important. I recognize the mess is getting bigger and the quality is worse than pre release beta.
