When will the music autocasting from my phone "feature" be fixed?

Same complaint as posted here - https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Speakers-and-Displays/Nest-mini-playing-music-casting-from-ph...

If I ask a nest speaker to play music then it automatically sets up a cast from my phone. Really annoying that this decision is being made for me as there are so many times where I want to play music on a nest speaker (eg. to soothe my baby) but also play my own music. Right now the only way to do this once the cast is set up is to disconnect, start playing my music, then ask the nest speaker to start playing again.

It's just a really stupidly implemented feature. Really dumb. And apparently it is a feature and not just a bug - https://www.androidpolice.com/youtube-music-spotify-connect-nest-speakers-control-playback/

So my question is - when will this "feature" be fixed?

Hi malawi89,

Thanks for reaching out. We hear you — we can understand why you feel that way. We appreciate people who are keen on sharing their thoughts with us. We're always looking for ways to improve.

I'd suggest you submit feedback about it. See the article below on how to do it.

Share feedback about Google Nest

No offense but that is a ridiculously complicated way to share feedback. I'm referring to the android method - there's no way I'm going to try and share feedback over a google nest speaker. It gets it right like half the time. I can't believe that the product has actually gotten worse with time 😁

Hi there,

We hear you — we can understand why you feel that way. We don't have anything else to share right now, but stay tuned for more news and updates. Right now, the best thing to do is to submit feedback using the link provided in this thread.

Thanks,

Juni
