I use white noise for my baby to sleep overnight and it randomly stops before 12 hours is up - consequently WAKING him up...and he isn't able to resettle when it's 5am in the morning 🤬🤬 Obviously every parents worse nightmare.
Checked activity log and no ghost commands at odd hours.
Any ideas? Tempted to ditch the speaker and buy a white noise machine.
Bloody unreliable.

Hi Mrsbla,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.
I’m sorry for the trouble this has caused you, let me help you out. A few things: which Nest speaker are we working with? Was this working before or you just recently used the feature? If this was working, were there any changes made before the issue started? Do you have another Nest speaker? If so, is this happening to the other Nest speakers?
You can do a sequential reboot. First, unplug your Nest speaker/ display for 30 seconds, then do the same thing to your Wi-Fi router to refresh both devices and your Wi-Fi signal.
Looking forward to your response.
Thanks,
Juni

Hi Juni,
It's the Nest Audio Speaker (2020) and it was working fine for quite a considerable amount of time.
I suspect a recent update from Google may have introduce these instabilities.
I only have one Nest Audio Speaker in the house, the rest are Google Nest Hubs.
I have rebooted both speaker and our mesh WiFi network (all 3x of the nodes) and the problem still intermittently persists.
I've looked online and it's not an isolated problem, others are experiencing the same intermittent issue without any real root cause found.

Hi Mrsbla,
Thanks for trying that. Sorry that you are still experiencing the issue. You can do a factory data reset to put back your Nest Audio back to its default setting and set it up again as a new device. Once successfully set up, try the feature again and observe if this will make a difference. Check the steps below for guidance on how to do the factory data reset.
Here’s how to do the reset. On the back of your Google Nest Audio, switch the mic off. The LEDs will turn orange. It will say "The mic's off" then press and hold the center of your Google Nest Audio, near top. After 5 seconds, your Google Nest Audio will begin the factory reset process. It will say, "You're about to completely reset this device. Release to cancel" then wait for the chime.
Check this link for more information.
Keep me posted.
Thanks,
Juni

Thanks for this. Have done the reset but will only be commenting back if there was more random restarts 🙃
