I have my google home connected to my premium Spotify account. I regularly ask GH to play and album by an artist - eg “Hey Google play the album Volume 4 by Black Sabbath”. GH response is “playing Vole 4 by Black Sabbath from Spotify” and I either get the wrong album or one song from the album and then some obscure music.
I have read the past responses to this issue - one suggested I control it from iPad or phone - but the whole basis of GH is to be voice activated.
Surely something can be done to fix this problem.
Is it a GH or Spotify problem? Is there a better music provider I can use?

Hey Mike, have you tried saying "Black Sabbath Vol4"? I don't use Spotify, but the metadata for the album may be entered exactly that way. If that doesn't work, try creating a routine and activating it with "Volume 4." I've had to do that for various radio stations and albums with weird and confusing titles, especially classical titles -- it's annoying but there is a workaround at least with a routine.

Thanks GothamNY. I know about routines etc. The whole basis of premium Spotify is you can play what you want when you want. The whole basis of GoogleNest is that you can use verbal commands rather than a typed or pointer device. I guess the technology is just not up to my expectations yet and I will continue to manage it from Spotify on my iPad

Hey Mike, yeah I get it, then again it's technology and it's not always perfect; when it's not perfect it's annoying. Did you try it by saying "vol4" instead of "volume 4"? I'm guessing you did and got the same result. Hard to say where the problem might be, it could be a function of how the music is cataloged by Spotify (titles are usually hardcoded by the publisher/studios) or whether it's Nest just being daft. I've only experienced the issue with Tune-In radio and odd-named stations, "Chill 101" for example.
The only other suggestion I can offer is to provide feedback in the Home app that will flow to the program team/engineers. You can do that by clicking your profile pic in the upper right and choosing feedback and leave details there. You might cut and paste your original comment from here. I'd also leave feedback with Spotify.
