Hi. I live in Mexico City, and last year they decided to cancel the Daylight Saving Time. We should have changed the time yesterday but it didn't happen. However, the time displayed on my Google Nest is one hour ahead now, as if it was DST, and I don't know how to get the right time. I asked the device and it told me the time zone depends on the address registered in the app. The address is correct, I haven't changed it and it still says Mexixo City. How can I fix that?
04-03-2023 08:46 AM
Same problem here. The address in my Google Home app was correct. When I used a voice command to ask what time it is, Assistant replied with the correct time. However, the time displayed on my Nest displays was one hour ahead.
My main use of these displays during the day is as convenient Assistant-powered clocks, so having the wrong time displayed is a problem.
I changed my address in the Home app to a random address one time zone to the west so that the correct time will display. This is not ideal, as now voice commands believe I am in this false location and other features such as weather are incorrect as well.

Same problem here and hard to believe Google hasn't fixed it yet, no way to correct it manually because the the time zone it's linked with the address of your device, tried to change it just to get wrong information about the weather due different locations, it's been a day already and still with the same problem, Apple and Amazon products didn't have this problem, I'm sure it's a quick easy fix, do better Google.

Yes now i have the same problem, It is incredible that a company like Google does not fix this
04-04-2023 01:57 PM
Same problem in Monterrey Mexico
04-04-2023 10:39 PM
Same problem with my two hub devices. It's really annoying, feeling I'm always late or something.
04-04-2023 11:10 PM
Same issue wrong time in many Google devices. Governement cancelled DST, so time no longer changed in most of the country, including Mexico City, and yet, Google hub, nest and Chromecast devices changed the time, wrongfully adding one hour to the current time. This should not happen anymore in (most of) Mexico.
Google, please fix this. Should be as easy as correcting your timezones tables. Do it fast as this is creating very problematic issues everywhere.

Is someone from Google actually looking into this? It has been more than a week with this issue. It is not solved for me yet.
04-10-2023 01:03 PM
I think we need to send emails to Google
04-14-2023 07:58 AM
I think mine got fixed last night...

Hello everyone,
Thanks for flagging this! Our team has already identified a way to resolve the issue. Please bear with us as we roll out the fix in the following days and keep us in the loop once your Google Home and Nest devices are showing and responding with the correct time in Mexico. We want to make sure everyone is all set.
Kind regards,
Lovely

Thanks... it has been ONE MONTH, AND TWO DAYS since this big mess started in Mexico and you, a multibillion dollar company have not been able to solve it ! (Or dont even care?)
You should have been prepared for this,
FIRST: by paying attention to the OFFICIAL WORLD TIMETABLES (handled by IANA and which are absolutely correct and updated, way before the march 12th day the time didn't change in Mexico except, incorrectly, on many Google devices).
SECOND: It is absolutely inacceptable that you took so long to fix an elemental thing such as THE TIME in tons of computing devices. It should be fixable just by changing those tables and rebooting. Nothing more. But, behavior shows that you have a mess of programming code, two or mode codes to DISPLAY (the wrong) time and another piece of code to SPEAK (the CORRECT, time) in many devices.
SO, please, hurry up. There are many many people affected, not just people playing with this things as toys. Personally I do have senior (advanced age) persons, disabled or incapacitated people depending on Google Home Assistant features to do things such as banking, grocery shopping, etc. PLEASE, fix it !

Hello:
All Nest hub devices are with the time for Mexico City correctly set. But Chromecast 4K / Google TV devices, if on settings the "Use network provided time" is turned ON, then the time for Mexico City is wrongly set ONE hour ahead of the actual real current time. Of course the TIME zone is correctly set to "Mexico City" and I made a check for new firmware, which there was none.
The problem still persists for Chromecast devices.
Please do not close this issue as the problem is still present in this devices. Thanks.

Hello Muddi:
Five minutes ago, I did this with my Google Chromecast 4K / Google TV device.
1.- Check the time: It was OK
2.- Changed the time for the device to obtain the time from the network: Got the WRONG time (1 hr ahead). Also cheked that the time zone was correctly set, it was: Mexico City
3.- Changed back the time setting to manual and corrected the time.
4.- Checked if there was new firmware available, there was none and the device is on the latest available firmware.
5.- Rebooted the device.
6.- Did again steps 1 to 4 above. Same results. TIME IS STILL WRONG AND the device is not able to set the time correctly is it is configured to obtain the time from the network.
Whats up with you Google. Can't you really fix this issue? It's been months since we (many manyu users) repor

Hey febb,
Thanks for the added information. I just wanted to check if you receive an update on your TV lately? If not, please try resetting your TV to refresh all the settings. You may also check with the TV manufacturer if they are getting similar reports.

Hey Princess:
With all due respect: How you dare to close this since the issue is absolutely NOT fixed ?
The ball is IN Google's side of the field! Not ours... I have nothing more to say except again that the Chromecast devices have still the wrong time, many months now lime this and YOU (Google) are not responding with a fix.
I'd kindly request to maintain this open as a channel to communicate with Google and with the tons of other users with the same issue.
Otherwise, we'd have to start all over again with no record of what's going on.
Better yet, Google, please fix this wrong time in Mexico due to the cancellation of DST in this country by its government. Should be an very easy fix... What's going on?
Thanks.

My Chromecast still has the wrong time:
firmware 275994
Cast firmware 1.56.275994
06-10-2023 01:55 PM
Mine too. still wrong time, no FW upgrades , no fix.
Seems Google gives a **bleep** about this, they just don't care.
Months with this and no fix... May e it's time to look for other brands for our new home devices and our home network expansions.

Hello. Per your request, the form has been already answered / filled up by me.
We'd appreciate your assistance to get a solution from Google to this issue with our Chromecasts. As I mentioned before, the problem with the "Nest Hub" devices was successfuly solved, nevertheless that is not the case with Google Chromecast devices. Thanks in advance for your intervention.
Kind regards.
