YouTube Music not casting to Nest Mini

I noticed over the past day that none of my devices (both Android and iOS, including tablets) are able to cast YouTube Music audio to Nest or Home Mini devices anymore. It will say connecting and I can adjust the volume, but will not cast. If I press play on the app, it will just play through the device. The functionality works fine with displays (Nest Hub, etc).

One way I was able to get it to work was to ask a specific Nest or Home Mini to play a song, and if my device was already trying to cast, it would connect and I would be able to control it from my device. However as soon as I stop casting and then try to cast again, it will not work.

Other apps, such as Prime Music, are able to cast audio fine. Is this a YouTube Music issue then? Any ideas on how to resolve it?

I appreciate all the details you've shared. It looks like the issue only happens when casting YouTube Music. Just to verify, could you tell us if the music you're trying to cast to your Nest Mini shows a video from the app? Have you already tried playing other music content (without video)? How about when casting podcast, does it work?
