I have YouTube music linked to my speaker. when I say shuffle this playlist. The speaker will only play a hand full of songs then start repeating them. This happens most of the time when I say this command.

Hi itzJohnnyboy,

Thanks for posting—let's get this sorted out. A few questions: is this happening to all the playlists you have? Do you have a premium subscription on YouTube? Are you getting the same behavior if you ask Google Assistant on your phone to play your playlist? I’ll look forward to your response.

Regards,
Alex

Yes I have YouTube premium membership. Yes this happens to all my playlists when  playing off my nest hub. As far as my phone, I actually have never ask my assistant to play any playlists off my phone. I always go to the YouTube music app myself and play/shuffle. When I'm on my phone. Now that you asked me that. I asked the assistant to shuffle one of my named playlist on my phone about 15 to 20 times now and Im seeing that it's says. "Ok I will shuffle your playlist called _____ on YouTube music." Then it shows a prompt to open that playlist on YouTube music. I choose open. And it doesn't play or shuffle the playlist. I tried with different named playlist and it has the same results. open this playlist on YouTube music. it opens the music app and just stays at the front page without playing anything.

Hi there,

That's odd. Let’s try doing some troubleshooting steps.

  • Open the Google Home app > Devices > Tap your Google Nest Hub > Settings > Remove device > Remove.
  • Back to the Devices tab, scroll down to Other Cast/Local Devices > Tap your Google Nest Hub > Add to a room. Follow the steps to add it back to your room.
  • Give it a command to play your playlist.
  • If the issue persists, do a factory reset and then setup.

Keep us posted.

Warmly,
Alex
