YouVersion issue

I always enjoy listening to YouVersion daily devotionals because it is short and straight to the point. Google Assistant/mini no longer supports YouVersion.  

Their support says this is Google's internal decision.  

WHAT??

Are they anti christians now?

Thank you so much for being a valuable member of the YouVersion Community! We really appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns with us.

We wanted to let you know about a recent change from Google that might affect your use of Google Assistant products. Starting on June 13th, all voice interactions will be removed. The devices this affects include:
Google Home device
Google Mini device
Pixel Phones
Google Assistant App

We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and we're grateful for your support and understanding. Our iOS and Android apps have a variety of audio options including audio on the Bible reader, and narrated audio on most Bible Plans. I hope these audio selections help you continue to seek God every day.

This is Google's internal decision. So we are sorry that currently we are not able to provide more specifically what change from Google is requiring the removal of voice interactions. But we hope that we can find a way to reinstate it.

The products we do still support includes:

YouVersion Bible App
Bible App For Kids
Bible.com
Amazon Alexa

I know how it feels when things aren't working the way it should be. 

Conversational Actions is no longer available since June 2023. For more information, please visit our announcement page.

Things that you could do with phrases like “Talk to…,” for games, stories, and education, will no longer be available. You may notice this change across many of the devices you use Assistant with such as speakers, smart displays, and mobile phones.

No they’re not anti-Christian 🙂 they’re just retiring conversational prompts across the entire platform (such as “Hey Google.. Ok Google…”) 

Other app developers have released updates to change they way their products integrate with Google Home. This makes it possible for those apps to work by saying, for example. “play John 3:16” instead of “Hey Google, play John 3:16” 

Sounds like YouVersion aren’t working on (or aren’t yet ready) an update like this.
