Hi

Tracks with explicit lyrics will play on YouTube Music on my phone but won't cast to Nest Mini.

I have disabled filters in the Google Home. App.

Please help

Same issue and I have multiple speakers. My problem was with my paired Google home max speakers. I also have multiple family members in my home. My filters seemed to have a default setting- not sure if the family status was the reason.

You will need to check three places. In the YouTube music app settings, make sure you have restrictions off. Next, check your digital well-being setting in the Google home app. Manually go through the process to set filters. Choose everyone. Choose all devices. Check that list. If the device on which you want to play music is listed, great! Proceed to allow all videos and all music for all devices.  Third step. Go to the Google home settings for that individual speaker. Click notifications and digital well being. The top option is digital well-being and shows filters, downtime as the options. Click and make sure the individual entry shows “all” for your videos and music. Back arrow.  Click on You tube settings. Will that speaker will use restricted mode when playing you tube music? On my speakers (all of them), I had to also manually switch that sucker over to turn off “restrict when no one is recognized”.

One wrinkle I encountered was that in checking digital well being and setting that filter to “all” for all the listed speakers is that My MAX speakers weren’t showing up at all. Nothing I did in the individual settings worked. I also could not get the individual settings to show up when checking digital well being. So, if you can’t see your speaker to set the filter to “all” in digital well being (either in the main google home settings or in the individual speaker settings), yank that sucker from your home, factory reset it, and re add it. It should show up. Go through that process of opening up all the filters and also change the you tube restricted mode on the newly added speaker because it may have reverted to restrict when someone isn’t recognized.

One more thing: If your problem speakers are paired, unpair them before you yank and reset and go through the process for each speaker individually and make sure they are allowing all for all persons before you pair them back up.

If it makes you feel any better, I could not make this work by disabling filters. I had to use the filters and tell them to let it all through.

Hi Pingboy,

I’m sorry for the inconvenience the filters and restrictions have caused you. Have you tried all the steps @truebeliever provided? All the steps he provided are correct. In addition to those, it would be of big help if you could see the links below for more information and troubleshooting steps about your concern. See below:

Hope this helps.

Best,

Dan
