can a chromecast use paired nest minis as a speaker

Fry

I bought 2 nest minis with the intention to pair and use them as wireless speakers for my TV with Chromecast (i.e. I want to cast video to the tv and sound to Nest minis).

Somehow, I got the impression I could do this. I'm guessing through my failure to set this up that this isn't actually a supported feature??

Would be great if it was, or to know that this is otherwise being worked on. I don't want to further invest in the nest ecosystem if something as obvious as this isn't going to be supported.

Hey there,
Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to drop in here to help.

This is a great question, but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,
Garrett DS

Hi Garrett,

I think this isnt a feature that's supported by the nest ecosystem - unless you know otherwise? Troubleshooting doesnt provide options to 'fix' this 'issue'. I have the impression that google were looking into this as a feature, but there are issues of lag betwen cast video to TV and audio to the nest minis.

Hi Fry,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

I'm afraid that feature isn't supported yet, but we're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take this as feedback. You can also send feedback about this using the Google Home app. Here's how
