dual google accounts no working properly

I have a Harmon Kadon citation one speaker that allows us to connect and speak to google.

It works fine on voice although on the home app. Both me and my wife have our google accounts linked after a long period of google home showing the device in the devices tab but not recognising it when we tried to make voice work

The problem seems to be spotify. If i want to play spotify, the thing automatically plays her spotify, no matter if I am on my account in google home or not.

Are we not able to link two spotify accounts to google? It seems to default to hers every time and the only way I get to play my music is by going into spotify and manually taking over the speaker.

thansk for your help!

Hi danlee,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I’m sorry that you’re experiencing troubles playing Spotify on your Harmon Kadon Citation one speaker and chose the incorrect playlist since you have two Google accounts. I understand how frustrating this can be. Let’s work together for a solution.

Before I begin, I need to ask you a few questions for further assistance:

  • Are you and your partner linked into the same Google account, “Home Structure,” as the speaker?
  • When did the situation start?
  • Have you tried to unlink the Spotify service and add it back again?
  • Did you try to use different voice commands to play your playlist?
  • Have you tried using different phones to perform the commands?
  • How close is your third-party speaker when using the voice command?

In the meantime, please try to do the following suggestion:

Add the device to an existing room in your current home. Here are the steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap Favorites or Devices.
  3. Tap and hold your device's tile, then Settings or More, More menu, and then Settings.
  4. Tap Room or Placement.
  5. Choose a room and tap Next.

By doing this, you can select a room where the third party is located and use the voice command to select a specific action.

Note: Currently, the option to have two Spotify accounts in Google Home isn’t available. However, we're always looking for improvements. Please share your experience and thoughts about this concern and submit them to the feedback form, so it can address this situation better in future updates.

Let me know how it goes and keep me posted.

Regards,

Byron
