I can’t get past this error message - any help would be great!

Solved!

Apparently I was using the WRONG GMAIL ADDRESS.  Basically I was being locked out because the email address for my Google home was not my work gmail, but another gmail.

Go to Google Home

- top right - a small screen will open with your name and the email right below

- if this is not the email you used to set up your Google Home, click the drop down arrow and choose Add another account

- exit out of Google Home

- reset Google Nest Hub to factory settings (basically starting over - again!!!)

- open Google Home

- follow all steps to set up

(I did get another error message about "iCloud" - but my Google device then had the option for me to finish set up)

- close Google Home

- reopen Google Home

- find your new device! 🙂

Hi folks,

@cindyjwally, thanks for sharing that information. I’m glad your issue is resolved now.

@Cascade, have you checked your account if it has a Gmail domain? Open your Google Home app, go to the upper right corner which shows your avatar or the 1st letter of your name. See if it's a Google account or if it's on a different account. Follow the steps above afterwards.

I’ll keep this thread open for 3 more days. If you need further help, let me know.

Looking forward to your response.

Best,

Dan

Hi Cindy,

You are brilliant! Working perfectly.

Such an easy fix but not if you don't know it! hahaha

Thank you so much for all the time it must have taken to figure it out.
