google speaker groups not working

phillip9000

I have my house full of google speakers, Mini, home and nest.

my wifi is fine, I have several Ubiquiti Access Points setup as 1 network and I've used apps to test my wifi signal throughout the house and the signal strength is excellent.

I lose my Home Group a lot from apps, but I can still voice control my Home Group.  I've found that if I reboot the Home Max the Home Group will come back for 24-48 hours in the google home app &  music apps and then disappear again,  rebooting the Home Max will bring the Home Group back in google home app & music apps.

the problem has slowly gotten worse over the past 12 months.

this is really disappointing me.

Hi phillip9000,

This is not the experience we want you to have, let me help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? Were there any recent changes made?

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

Once done, if the issue persists, it would be best to do a factory reset on your devices. Depending on the type of Nest speaker you have, follow the steps on this link for the factory reset and set them up again.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Dan
