home and mini nest

I have a home and a mini.  I recently installed a new Netgear Nighthawk modem/router.  They were working, and now periodically through out the day, when I ask "Hey Google" a question, both will tell me to wait as they have to hook up to an internet connection.  So, I will unplug them (reboot), and they will start working again for a while.  But later on, the same thing happens.  I have also tried rebooting my router, and the same story, both will stop working later on.  I am not sure what to do.  Thanks.

Hi swilde5139,

That certainly isn’t the experience we want you to have ― let’s check it out. Question: aside from your Google Home, do you have a Google Home Mini or a Nest Mini?

By the way, thank you for doing some of the troubleshooting steps and since your new modem/router is a Netgear Nighthawk, you may need to complete the following to successfully setup your devices with the router:

  1. Disable Access Control.
  2. Enable the option Allow guests to see each other and access my local network in the Guest Network Setup.

If you’re unable to access your modem/router settings, you may need to reach out to Netgear support for further assistance and guide you through the steps.

Looking forward to your response.

Best,

Dan
