home hub camera offline while device is online

My home hub camera is offline in the google home app and the nest hub, while I know my device is online.  I know it's only becuase the assistant works, it plays music, is showing photos etc.  For some reason though the camera isn't showing.  I have factory reset it mutliple times and re-set it up in google home app more than once also. I also reset my modem.

To better assist you, please answer the following questions:

  • When did the inconvenience start?
  • After the factory reset, were you able to set up the built-in camera again? If not, did you receive any error messages during the setup process?
  • Have you successfully set up your Nest Hub Max before? If yes, were you able to set up the built-in Nest Cam as well?
  • What’s the make and model of the mobile device you used for the setup?
  • What is the make and model of your router?
  • How far is the router from the Nest Hub Max?

  • When did the inconvenience start? I've had the product for ~ 3-4 years and the problem started several months ago but I only tried to fix it this week. 
  • After the factory reset, were you able to set up the built-in camera again? If not, did you receive any error messages during the setup process?  No the camera has not worked since the trouble first started a few months ago. 
  • Have you successfully set up your Nest Hub Max before? If yes, were you able to set up the built-in Nest Cam as well?  Yes it used to work for years until recently. 
  • What’s the make and model of the mobile device you used for the setup? It is a nest hub max. 
  • What is the make and model of your router? i don't know but all my other devices including nest cams are working fine, so its not related to the internet. 
  • How far is the router from the Nest Hub Max?  all other devices in the vicinity of the home hub are working fine.  

Also, i tired to manually switch the camera off and on again already just FYI. 

In my home app it says the device is offline, but the photo frame is working fine and i can do video calls and other assistant type searches etc, so it's obviously online.

Thank you for your response and the detailed information. I appreciate your efforts and the troubleshooting you've already done. Based on your description, the camera appears to be working, but the Google Home app is showing it as offline. To confirm, are you referring to a standalone Nest camera or the built-in camera on a Nest Hub Max?
