i also need which device to use, try saying that again including the devices name

Connected to my samsung tv through smart things etc.

Recognises to turn the tv on/off pause/play etc. I've linked netflix to the home app but if i say 'play (a show) on netflix on (location) (device name) it keeps saying 'i also need which device to use, try saying that again including the devices name'

I can see that this has been asked before and apparently resolved but the resolution is no longer visible.

Help please, it's driving me mad haha

Hey Kp2312,

Sorry to hear about your experience, but thanks for bringing this up. To confirm, is it a cast-enabled TV or does it have an external Chromecast device? What is the specific model of your TV?

Please note that there are limited actions that you can do to control your TV when linked via the SmartThings app to your Google Home/Nest device. You can visit this link for your reference.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hi Kp2312,

If your TV is successfully linked to your Google Nest speakers, make sure that the TV and speakers are both set up in the same home structure and connected to the same Wi-Fi network. After that, try the commands listed on this link.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Princess

Hi Kp2312,

Sorry for the confusion. Here's the link. Also, please make sure that your TV and Google Nest speakers as well as your router are in a good range from each other for better connection.

Keep me posted.

Princess

Hey Kp2312,

To confirm, is your TV setup on SmartThings app or directly on the Google Home app?

Hey Kp2312,

Got it! For you to play or stream Netflix via voice command on your TV - you have to set it up directly on the Google Home app. Make sure to remove it from the SmartThings app first then set up your cast enabled TV by following the steps on this link: Link your TV to your Google Nest or Home speaker or display

Hope this helps.
