iPhone won't stop connecting to nest mini

I have an iPhone 14 and i have a little JBL bluetooth speaker that I use to listen to music on Spotify while I work.  My two kids each have a nest mini in their bedrooms.  Every time they start listening to something on their nest mini it automatically switches to that on my phone and sets my speaker to the nest mini.  I've tried everything to fix this with no luck.  Changed settings in google home app, changed settings in spotify, tap forget device, still goes right back.  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as this is driving us crazy.

Hi listenhard,

Thanks for contacting us about your Nest Mini speakers automatically connecting to your mobile device.

In this situation the best option is to disconnect your mobile device from your Nest mini speakers when they are being used with other devices, in order to avoid them connecting to your mobile device.
I suggest you follow this steps:
 

Make sure your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as the speaker or display.

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. At the top-right, tap Settings and then Audio and then Default music speaker.
  3. Tap the preferred device to disconnect.
  4. The speaker will disconnect from the speaker or display, but it will still be paired.

    In case your JBL speaker and your Nest mini speakers are in the same home structure in your Google Home, I also suggest considering separate the speakers in different home structures with a different location, this would prevent them from automatically connecting to each other. You can find instructions on how to do this by following these steps: Change your home and work locations in the Google Home app

    Once you've completed these steps, your Nest Minis won't automatically connect to your mobile device anymore.
