latest changes which made google nest useless in many aspects

What are you doing with the google nest features? The technology is already very desappointing, but taking away the one or two things that make it useful? Why?

1) cannot call from one nest to another inside my home? This intercom function was VERY useful in large property, no more, why?

2) play multiple speakers the same song? why it is so hard to have all my rooms playing the same list o spotfy? We could before (very badly and unstable) but we could...no more.

3) nest do not give me cocktail recipes, why? children protection? I do not have, so how can I enable this research?

4) google podcast do not play anymore on nest? why? to force me to use youtube music, ok, but it do not carry my favorite podcasts...making things worse...

5) cannot broadcast to specific rooms? why? now I have to screem in all 6 speakers in my home to send a quick message to my wife, all the neighborhood has to here? why I cannot send anymore to a specific room?

6) why it cannot find all my 6 speaker in the list? why it it so hard to make them see each other even using different networks?

7) why the function "cast to x device" never work properly?

 

Look, I am a stupid Google loyal consumer, but Apple and Amazon are doing a much better job....FIX IT and MAKE YOUR SPEAKER SYSTEM WORTHWHILE!!!

 

I IS A FIASCO SO FAR!   I want to believe.....in Google products....make them viable!!!

Sorry to hear the issues that you are experiencing with the Nest Speakers. Help is here!, you can follow these steps in order to solve the issue: 

 

1. To troubleshoot the first issue: 

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap Settings > Communication > Device & Call Settings.
  • Turn your speaker or display onOnor offOff.

2. To troubleshoot the second one follow this link: Play media on multiple Google Nest devices.

 

3. To troubleshoot the third one:

Make sure your phone and Google Nest Hub are connected to the same network and within 15-20 feet of your router. Also, the Google Account signed into your mobile device's browser should be the same account you used to link to your display. Try using a different phone to see if you'll get the same result.

 

4. To check the issue with the podcasts I want to get some information:

 

  • Is this a new issue? Was your device able to play podcasts before?
  • Are you logged into the media/apps where you listen to your podcasts? Are they linked in your Google Home app?
  • What voice commands are you using? Are you using the same layout as the examples below?
    • Example: "Listen to Oral History of The Office on Spotify"
      "Play This American Life on Google Podcasts"
  • Is this happening with all podcast channels? Or just one?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

5. With the specific rooms follow these articles: Broadcast voice messages to Google Nest or Home devices

 

6. To find the speakers list follow these articles: Can't find Google Nest or Home device in the Google Home app.

 

7. To troubleshoot the cast to x device issue follow these steps: Cast your screen from the Google Home app.

Your answer to 5 does not work.  Whenever you try to broadcast to an individual speaker now it says that the device is not named on your account so can not broadcast your message.

This was a major feature of Google Home.  I have spoken with Help and they have confirmed the ability has been removed.  Why?!

Hi Chris

It's very bizarre. I was told by Google help it's been removed. On an unrelated issue I deleted our home and reinstalled it all today. Still didn't work. Tried it again an hour ago and it's working 😱. Very weird, considering I was told by Google it's been deleted. But hey, a wins a win
