Hi experts

I have two nest minis. Individually they play the sound perfectly from spotify. But when I cast to them paired only one plays and the other says 'I am sorry'

I tried reboot and empty spotify cache.

Any other tricks I did not find yet?

 best regards

Hey M2DT,

Thanks for bringing this up. Apologies for the delayed response here.

I know how challenging it is when you're having issues casting music on your paired Nest Mini devices. We'd love to help. I'd like to gather some details — when did the issue start? Are you able to play music via voice command on paired devices? Have you tried casting on an audio group?

Below are the things that you can try:

  1. Move your Google Nest devices within 15-20 ft. away from the router to get enough signal from your network.
  2. Reboot your Google Nest device and router by disconnecting them from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hey Kramer1,

Thanks for reaching out.

A quick question: are you trying to pair your phone to your Google Nest Mini via Bluetooth? Also, make sure your Nest Mini is already set up and working. If so, try these steps:

From the Google Home app:

  1. Make sure the customer's mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as the speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app.
  3. In Home View > tap the device card of the device you'd like to pair a mobile device via Bluetooth with.
  4. At the top right, tap Settings > Audio > Paired Bluetooth devices > Enable Pairing Mode.

From your mobile device's Bluetooth settings:

  1. On your mobile device's Home screen, tap Settings > Bluetooth .
  2. Turn on Bluetooth.
  3. Tap the name of the Google Home you'd like to pair.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Alex

Hey Muddi,

Thank you for taking the time to respond. My update; the problem moved... The group with the two speakers is working fine now :)!  but not in combination with my NEST.  Unplugging and configuring it again with the home app did not fix this yet.

Best regards

Hey M2DT,

Thanks for the update. Have you tried resetting the Nest Minis? If not, please follow the steps below to know-how:

  • On the side of your device, switch the mic off. The lights will turn orange. Press and hold the center of the Nest Mini, where the lights are on top. After 5 seconds, your device will begin the factory reset process. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more, until a sound confirms that the device is resetting.

Once done, set up the device then try to pair them again. Make sure that devices are located on the same room.

Keep us posted.

Hi,

I was on a business trip sorry I could not respond sooner.

Please feel free to close the thread. It hasn't been solved but I wasted more time on this than the google nest is worth.

Thank you  for your time. At least the speakers work now.

best regards
