play itunes playlist on nest audio speaker

Hi

I've got a nest audio speaker and an apple music account I've got the apple music account added on the speaker and this works fine.

With apple music, the local music library on my pc is synced to the cloud so my mp3 collection and playlists are available on my iphone. Is there a way to play this music including playlists on the nest audio speaker? It seems like it should be possible since its synced to the itunes account used on the speaker but if I say "ok google play whatever-playlist" it doesn't work

anyone know if this is possible? thanks for any help

Hey joe44,

Thanks for visiting the community.

Apologies for the late reply. I know how relaxing it is to be able to play your personal Apple playlist on your Google Nest Audio. To confirm, are those music uploaded from a different source, or you got it from Apple Music itself?

Looking forward to your response.

Cheers,

Hi Muddi

The tracks are my mp3 collection. If you have an apple music account, apple lets you sync you local mp3 collection using itunes to the cloud.

thanks

Hey joe44,

Got it! Could you try playing a curated playlist from Apple Music. Also, try to create a playlist from Apple Music app itself then check if you will have the same issue playing it.

Keep us posted.

hi. Yes a curated playlist from apple works fine, but playlist made using apple music app that includes the tracks synced from my PC to the cloud (tracks that are not publicly available on apple music) still doesnt work

I think it looks like the answer is that you just cant play these playlists on the speaker, never mind. Thanks

Hey joe44,

I appreciate the update. I'll need to double check this with the team. I'll get back to you for an update.

Hey joe44,

Just an update. Upon checking with the team, they confirmed that mp3 collections from iCloud are not supported. You can only play curated playlist and your playlist made from Apple Music itself.

We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take this as feedback and pass it along to the team. I also suggest that you send feedback using your devices by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback" or by following the steps on this link.

Let me know if I can assist with anything else, otherwise I will be locking this thread after 24 hours.

Cheers,

Muddi
