"Connect to the same WI-fI"

My google home app keeps telling me to "Connect to the same Wi-Fi" even tho I am connected. and it won't let me go any further in the app to be able to set up my nest hub.

I have factory reset my nest hub 7 times and disconnected it from the power cord, and I've even restarted my phone and nothing will work.

Hi Haylee,

Thanks for posting—let's get this sorted out. Is this the first time you’re setting up your Google Nest Hub 2nd gen device? Are you using private or shared Wi-Fi? Is the router dual-band? Are there other Google Nest devices connected to your Wi-Fi? I’ll look forward to your response.

Regards,
Alex

I had this issue and it was solved by....

1. Go to router settings

2. Disable "dual band" or if you have the option just the 5Ghz

3. Complete setup process

4. Return to router settings and enable "dual band" or 5Ghz

I found that even though I was on the same network (ssid), I couldn't complete setup unless I was on the 2.4Ghz band.

Hope this helps.
