Now that the app has upgraded I can ONLY use the camera on my hub if i am connected to the same wifi network as the hub. If I were home would I not just walk into the room with the camera????

Hi @Lizardisanerd,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Hub Max's Nest Cam can only be used when connected to the same Wi-Fi network after the Gemini update. I understand this is an unexpected behavior, as the remote viewing capability is a core feature of your built-in Nest Cam. I'm here to assist you.

To better understand the reason for the issues, please provide the information requested below:

  • Besides the issue with the built-in Nest Cam, is your Nest Hub Max working properly? Is it answering your commands and providing you with the information you ask for via the Google Assistant?
  • Have you tried to access your built-in Nest Cam remotely from a different device?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you performed before posting here in the community?

In the meantime, I recommend that you check if Home monitoring features are turned on or off. You can learn more about Home monitoring by visiting the article Nest Cam on Google Nest Hub Max.

Keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Anders
