renaming my devices

Can I program my google devices to respond to a different name other than "hey google"? I constantly struggle with all my devices trying to respond at once.

Hey piscesgurl_28,

Welcome to the Google Nest Community Forum.

Good question! For now, you can only change the name of your device but not the wake word (Hey Google, or Ok Google). You can adjust the device sensitivity, which lets you choose how sensitive your device is to phrases that sound like “Hey Google” or “Ok Google.” This feature is available on most speakers and Smart Displays with the Google Assistant language set to English. Also, you have to be the primary user to adjust these settings.

Follow these steps below to know-how:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home.
  2. At the bottom, tap Home Home.
  3. Select your speaker or Smart Display.
  4. At the top right, tap Device settings Settings and then Audio and then “Hey Google” sensitivity.
  5. Choose how sensitive you want Google Assistant to be when it responds to you.
  6. To change this setting on another device, tap Adjust more devices.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Muddi
