trying to connect mini and nest to new router. Makes sound but then says cannot communicate

Have made numerous attempts, and every time it seems like it has worked, the device makes a sound to verify connection to correct device, and then after confirming wifi network and password, I get a message that it cannot communicate with the device.  Phone is connected to the new wifi network.

Thanks for reaching out. I am sorry to hear that your Google Nest Mini is not connecting to your WiFi network. That is a frustrating issue. I would be more than happy to look into this issue and help find a solution. First, I have some questions.

  • Have you tried restarting your device?
  • If that does not work, could you try to Factory Data Reset your device?
    • A factory reset will reset your Google Nest or Home speaker or display to its default factory settings.
      Note: This action will clear your data from the device and can't be undone.
