Android TV 14 system update fills storage on CCWGTV

I've just been experiencing apps not opening and I was wondering why until I saw free storage was all gone. It's all because it's downloaded the latest OS update in the background despite there not being enough space. Surely this should be checked before the download commences?! C'mon Google, this is what puts people off your products.
