Can't add local google TV to room in home

LarsErikOsterud

I have two Google TVs that are logged into my Google account and show up as local devices in Home.

But when I try to add them to a room it fails. After a long time "Logon to Chromecast" it ends with "Could not connect".

Have tried to logout and log back in on the Google TVs.

I have a third Google TV that is assigns to a room, and 4 cameras.

So why won't the last two Google TVs work.

I can control them from Home, but can't add them to a room.

Hi @LarsErikOsterud,

Thank you so much for reaching out to this community! I understand you're having trouble adding two out of your three Google TVs to a specific room, even though all three devices are functioning correctly with the Google Home app. I appreciate that you've already tried some troubleshooting steps, but you're still encountering a message indicating that it couldn't connect. Don't worry, I'm here to help you!

To provide you with the appropriate troubleshooting steps, I would like to ask you a few questions.

  • Have you tried restarting both the Google TV device and your phone?
  • Is the Google TV device connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone?
  • Are you using a Google Chromecast with Google TV?
  • What is the make and model of your TV?

Please reply back with this information so I can assist you further.

Best regards,
Eduardo
