Can't install apps on internal or external storage

CCWGTV 4k is having problems with the attached (via a usb-c hub) storage.

It's a 128gb SanDisk microSD card. Was able to format it, and transfer all the non-system apps to it from internal storage; they still work.

But, I can't install anything else! Apps that should fit on either internal or external storage always attempt to install on the SD card, but CCwGTV says there isn't enough space (2.3GB available on internal, 122GB on the SD card).

This is particularly bad for us, as I also deleted some apps we use all the time, to see if that would help -- but now I can't reinstall them.

Am considering factory reset, but it's not clear if that will help, or leave me with a device with only system apps on it.

Thanks in advance.

Another odd thing, it took several tries to get the SD card working. As a result, I have 7 Not Connected drives, 6 of which have the same name as the working drive. There is no way to delete them via the UI.

Hi lonndog,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Connecting external USB hubs for storage expansion or peripheral devices to a Chromecast with Google TV is a hit or miss. These kinds of setups aren’t intended for the general use of Chromecast with Google TV. There’s no guarantee that they will work. Some users managed to pull it through, but we don’t normally recommend it as it may affect how the Chromecast device works. Kindly check out this basic guide: Move files from and to your Chromecast with Google TV.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you have questions or concerns with your Chromecast device.

Thanks,

Kimy
