Hi @Renepalam,

First I would like to thank you for posting in our community page, on the other hand I apologize for the inconvenience that you are having with your Chromecast. Let me tell you some troubleshooting steps that you can try to fix the problem.

There can be a few reasons why you can't access settings on your Chromecast with Google TV (4K) using the remote. Here are some steps to troubleshoot:

1. Check the Remote:

  • Make sure the remote has fresh batteries. Weak batteries can cause button presses to not register properly.
  • Try pairing the remote again following the instructions in the Chromecast setup guide or the Google TV user manual.

2. Restart the Chromecast:

  • Unplug the Chromecast from the power source for a minute, then plug it back in. This can sometimes clear temporary glitches.

3. The "Settings" Button Might Have Changed:

  • On some Chromecast models, the dedicated "Settings" button might be replaced with a profile picture icon on the far right of the home screen. Try navigating there using the directional buttons on your remote.

4. App Issue (If Using Google Home App):

  • If you're trying to access settings through the Google Home app, ensure the app is updated to the latest version on your phone or tablet.
  • Try force quitting the Google Home app and restarting it.
  • In rare cases, uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.

Here's how to access settings using the remote if the above solutions don't work:

  1. Go to the Chromecast home screen.
  2. Press the up or down directional button to navigate through the rows.
  3. Look for your profile picture icon (or the gear icon on older models) on the far right corner of the top row.
  4. Press the select button (usually the center button) on your remote.
  5. This should open the Settings menu.

If none of these solutions work, there might be a hardware issue with your Chromecast. You can contact Google support for further assistance

Regards,

Mario.
