Chrome TV Streamer Reboots Itself

Ever since I bought this the system often reboots itself for seemingly no reason. It most often happens when viewing live tv. I have it directly connected with an ethernet cable. The volume glitches making a weird "stutter" sound then reboots. It did this twice over the weekend while watching live tv.

I'm seeing something similar.

My issue starts with the laggy streaming, then the Streamer remote becoming unresponsive (sometimes at this phase i can still use the remote function in the Google Home App on my phone), then the responsiveness of the Streamer starts to fade until it completely freezes, and then the system reboots.

Once that happens, I cannot regain proper responsive or Streamer remote functionality unless I perform a factory reset on the unit.

Last time I reset, it lasted for 3-4 days without an issue but eventually it happens again.

I've tried new batteries.

I've rebooted mesh network (I'm hard wired and have no other internet issues).

I'm kind of at a lose.

Try for warranty return.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for posting on the community. I'm sorry to hear about the situation that you are experiencing with the Google Streamer that is having sound problems and rebooting by itself. I understand how frustrating that situation can be. But don't worry; I can help. In this case, I just need you to be more specific about the steps that you try to take to solve the situation.

1. Did you try these?

With the Google TV Streamer Voice Remote:

At the top right of your TV screen, select your profile > All settings .
Select System > About > Factory Reset.

From the Google TV Streamer device:

While the device is plugged into the TV and powered on, press and hold the button for 10–12 seconds on the back of the device. The LED should start to blink yellow.

When the LED light turns solid white, release the button, and the device should then reset.

2. And are your devices updated?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Jenny

Factory reset did not fix the issue

I watch through TiviMate and have never had this problem. Maybe it's because of some program?

I would agree if I had the same issue happening with my Chromecast device. Or if it was only one app giving me grief. I finally got in touch with someone at Google and the serial number can't be verified, so likely a counterfeit, or some weird anomaly on Google's side. I returned the item to the third party seller and reordered directly from Google.
