Chromecast 4K

I am in All Settings on my Chromecast 4K and when I try to Add Device so I can control with my Chromecast remote, the usual list of TV/Soundbar brands does not display, it simply reverts back to previous menu (Add Device).

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Chromecast 4K doesn't display the expected list of TV/Soundbar brands. Help's here!

 

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

 

  • Do you have the latest version of the Google Home app?
  • Did you get any error messages?
  • What device did you use to set up your Chromecast with Google TV?
    • If you use a laptop or desktop computer, try to use an iOS or Android mobile device to complete the setup via the Google Home app.
  • Do you have a dual-band router?
  • Is Chromecast connected to the 5 GHz connection?
    • Note: Connect the Chromecast device with Google TV to 5 GHz network for better performance.
