Chromecast 4k 21:9 support

I just bought a Chromecast with Google TV (4k) and plugged it into my Dell 38 inch curved monitor which has a 21:9 aspect ratio. After getting everything set up, I realized the Chromecast only supports up to 1080p on 21:9 screens and I'm not able to control the volume with the remote. 

Can I request that Google update the Chromecast software to support new and increasingly common ultrawide computer monitors?
