If your phone is running Android 11 or  newer, download Android TV remote application to be able to control Google Chromecast with Google TV.

Next, navigate to Settings - Remotes & Accessories, select Chromecast Remote and quickly select Forget.

At the end, select pair new device and you should be able to re-establish your remote control.

Put a new set of batteries.

Chef if any of the buttons is stuck in the pressed  position.

Reset and re-pair the remote.
