Chromecast mirroring

Hi there, I have this problem with Chromecast and Home. Suddenly it is not possible to get mirroring of my smartphone on TV. I never had such kind of issue in many years.

Here some details to better understand the situation:

0) Android 7, last Play Services update March 3th

1) Play Services: microphone active, move on other apps inactive

2) The phone connects with Chromecast (I use phone data and hotspot to realize the connection), indeed the Ambient appears and, for example, the function of getting some YouTube music by Home works

3 ) When I pish Send screen button, the mirroring seems to start, I see the volume changing I'm making on the phone (the Home cursor) correctly on TV screen, however, after a while

4) On TV screen it appears the warning that connection has been interrupted

it's a problem derived from the update of google play services on devices with old android versions, it has nothing to do with the malfunction of the second generation chromecast. At the moment there does not seem to be a solution available. On the TV, "connection interrupted" appears, while "mirroring end" appears on the phone screen.

(Note: the right issue category wasn't available so I choose getting started one)

Thank you. After having written this I read that from a while there's a problem involving  Chromecast.

This should concern expired SSL certificates, for which G recommended to not reset the device because this would compromise the fix. Is this the issue you meant?

If so, I have a doubt: the article I read said that the Chromecast affected is the 2nd generation one only. I think mine is 3th

Ive just read that, but I continue to not understand. My device is 3rd generation, indeed the problem for 2nd one has has been fixed and mine doesn't work yet (because 3rd). The little link you've given me doesn't take useful information: I only see two guys compelling the same problem, except for the fact that I don't see the string "mirroring ended", but just "disconnection from the device".

Can someone tell anything more?

Thanks. This Is the right answer. It's not a case I indicated at 0) that PServices had just been updated. I hope G will fix this, otherwise I must continue with bad thoughts about programmed obsolescence strategies —too much updating! Okay if they don't want support an app anymore, but I find  it weird, that is, curiously it wouldn't cost to keep it available on the PStore, so as the fact that I can install it bypassing the "obsolescence" "decepting" the apk with a root trick, and then, soon after the  install, the app works! (that proves that the unavailability is something programmed and imposed by G!), but it's unacceptable they hack the code (with apparent justification of legitimate PS updating) so that a new malfunction occurs on my device (while just before all work fine)!

Now I'm going to contact directly G to see if they have in program to solve this, or, as usual, to leave the question abandoned (after having done the damage)!

By the way, cicciobaciccio, can you tell me please where you've found that information (=the cause of... is the update)?
