Another report of a Chromecast remote going supernova, owned it since launch, and last few months I've been swapping batteries out almost daily, confused as to what was happening perhaps my rechargeable batteries are losing their longevity etc, I put in some Duracells and no it was not my batteries, my child picked up the remote and complained it was too hot, which made no sense to me so I picked it up, yup, going supernova for no reason, explains why all my batteries have been dead by the time I come to use the remote.
With other reports I've seen to submit a form link, I submitted my issues via this form and heard nothing for a week, does this link provide confirmation at all, whats the usual turnaround on an ETA as I cannot use my Chromecast now?

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Could you try to use a brand new set of batteries? Before that, do a factory reset on the Chromecast Voice remote.

Hey Kimy,
The remote has previously undergone several factory resets as when the battery drain issue was occurring, I tried to update the remote, which was 4 versions behind, and it took several factory resets to eventually get it to update. The battery drain issue continued until recently when I put in some brand new Duracells instead of my rechargeables and we noticed the remote getting really hot. I'm not throwing in more sacrificial batteries, they cost money. Clearly, a fault with the remote which has persisted over a factory reset and a firmware update.
