Hi,
Several times a week our Google Chromecast remote doesn’t function properly anymore and we need to restart our Chromecast by removing it from the socket. Afterwards the remote functions properly again.
Both Chromecast and its remote their software are up to date. Reset was performed.
Any idea to solve this? Or do we need to buy a new one?

Hi @Liesbeth,
Thank you for posting in the community. I understand your Google Chromecast remote stops functioning properly several times a week, requiring you to restart the Chromecast by unplugging it. I'm here to help you solve this persistent issue.
The behavior you're describing, where the remote intermittently drops its connection, often points to a Bluetooth connectivity issue. Let's try some specific troubleshooting steps:
Reinsert Remote Batteries:
Remove the batteries from your Voice Remote.
Wait a few seconds, then reinsert them.
Check if the LED on the remote blinks. If the LED doesn't turn on, please let me know.
Reboot the Chromecast Device:
Unplug the USB-C connection from your Chromecast streaming device to disconnect it from its power source.
Leave the streaming device unplugged for one full minute.
Plug it back in.
Perform a Factory Data Reset (FDR) on the Voice Remote:
This step will reset your remote to its default settings.
For detailed steps, please refer to the official Google Help Center article: Factory reset your Chromecast or Google TV Streamer Voice Remote.
Tip for Re-pairing: After the remote reset, you might need to re-pair it. To enter the pairing screen on your Chromecast, press the small reset button on the streaming device itself.
Please try these steps and let me know how it goes. I'll be waiting for your response to assist you further.
Regards,
Kevin
