I would like to address the issue or suggestion to improve the Google Chromecast software. I pause the show I'm watching from any app (YouTube, Discovery+, Prime Video etc) and after a few minutes, the Google screensaver will come on the TV. I don't see an option to turn that feature off completely.
Once I wake the Chromecast device from sleep, it seems to "forget" the current list of shows I am watching. It logs me out of the Prime Video or YouTube app completely. It sometimes shows the last show I paused on each app, but not always. Sometimes, on the Home Screen, the current tv shows I was watching back and forth seem to "disappear" and I have to remember the names of them. I watch alot of True Crime and they have plenty of them when I'm in a middle of a season, it forgets it in my lineup or list of shows.
I'm not sure if this is just a complaint or a suggestion. LOL. Thank you for your help, in advance.

Try putting it in developer mode and then enabling the option to never let the screen go to sleep.
Go back to system settings and in the developer options menu enable “Stay Awake”. This should prevent Ambient mode from engaging at all.

Hi @Psychic,
Thanks for reaching out to the community! I'm happy to help you with the ambient mode concern. Also, I appreciate chiming in, @JWillRVA.
While there currently isn't a way to completely turn off Chromecast's ambient mode, it's a great feature that displays beautiful pictures when your TV isn't in use.
I understand you might prefer a different option; in this situation, I'd appreciate your feedback, and it’s a feature that we all hope to be available again as soon as possible.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Best regards,
Jenniffer
